You must return before the time of closing each day. All renters who return after the time of closing will be charged up to a $100 late fee (per person). Additional hours/days will be subject to manager review. This does not include bad weather, safety comes first.
During special events such as July 4th, a longer window is given to leisurely make the return paddle. After the extra hour is up a higher cost late fee will apply.
Please note that discounts and coupons cannot be combined.
You are welcome to bring your own beverages and snacks in any size cooler or bag you prefer. However, no glass or styrofoam is allowed.
Absolutely no alcohol is permitted on our dock.
Don't forget the sunscreen and sun protection. Texas is hot in the summer!
Customer safety is our first priority. Our crew is here to help you have your best day on the water - Whether it's your first paddle or you're an old pro.
Please ask anyone on our team for help if you have questions.
By law, each person must have a life jacket on board. Children under the age of 13 years MUST wear a life jacket at all times. ($25-500 fine by the City/State)
We provide life jackets to all our renters.
For non-renters (personal crafts), you must bring your own life jacket (per person) to launch off our dock. Public access is not guaranteed during high traffic business hours due safety concerns.
Never paddle in the middle of the lake. Stay to the right side of lake, just like automobile traffic.
Wait for faster moving traffic to pass before crossing the lake. Rowing teams always have the right of way.
AVOID ROWING SHELLS. Kayaks, Canoes and SUPs must yield to rowers. Always be aware of rowing shells and coaching launches. Move toward the shore when being passed. Stay clear.
In unsafe weather conditions, we will close the dock or halt rentals until it is safe again.
No watercraft may launch during lightning or thunder, or if fog is too dense to clearly see the opposite shore.
If caught in a storm seek the shoreline and find shelter immediately.
Paddle into the wind heading out, and with the wind to return.
If you're having difficulty, paddle closer to the shore as trees help block the wind. If on a SUP, lie on your stomach or knees and paddle to safety.
City of Austin ordinance prohibits swimming in Lady Bird Lake. You may jump in but no open swimming.
